LEARN TO SAIL AT RYE YACHT CLUB

2011/12 Junior Sailing Program:

Sunday Morning Learn to Sail Program:

Rye Yacht Club offers Learn To Sail courses for Junior Sailors twice each summer season.

We cater for sailing at 3 different levels:

Introduction to Sailing Stage 1 - for beginners.

Introduction to Sailing Stage 2 - to introduce some more advanced skills and techniques.

Introduction to Racing - to provide the basic knowledge for sailors to join in with Junior Racing.

The form must be filled in and handed in or sent to the club at PO Box 387 Rye 3941 - and should be submitted at least 1 week before the Training Program commences. We will only be able to cater for 24 students in club owned boats, so make sure you enrol ASAP to ensure your place.

Sunday Afternoon Green Fleet Racing:

"Green Fleet Racing" - Modified Racing for Junior Classes will be run on Sunday afternoons, following the Morning Learn to Sail Programs. Green Fleet racing is specifically designed for young sailors. The courses are set quite close to shore and the races are quite short in duration. Come and join in the fun! Start Time is 1.30pm.

20011/12 Adult Learn To Sail Program:

Rye Yacht Club offers three 6-week Learn-to-Sail courses for adults each summer season. Our season starts on the last weekend in October and runs until late April the following year.

In 2011, the first course will commence on 12 November. A second course will run in mid January 2012, and a third will commence in early March 2012. Courses are run on Saturdays between 10am-3pm, using 2-person Pacer dinghies (we have 4 available) and a number of single person boats. You can also do our course using your own boat if you have one.

Participants receive comprehensive notes about many aspects of sailing as well as instruction in:

safety on the water
rigging your boat
launching and retrieval
tacking & gybing and
sailing on all points of the wind.

Cost:

Club Members Non Club Members

$100 up front or $20 per lesson $200 up front or $40 per lesson
